Under Georgia's agent licensing rules, what is the minimum number of prelicensing course hours a resident applicant must complete for a Property and Casualty agent license?
A20 hours
B24 hours
C60 hours
16 hours
Why this is the answer
Georgia's agent licensing rules require a resident applicant to complete an approved prelicensing course of at least eight hours of instruction per major line of authority; the major lines are Life, Accident and Sickness, Property, Casualty, and Personal Lines. A Property and Casualty applicant therefore needs at least 16 hours (8 for Property and 8 for Casualty). The applicant must pass the licensing examination within 12 months of completing the course and apply for the license within 12 months of passing. Georgia's insurance licensing exams are given by Pearson VUE.
