Retake timing comes from your test provider
Texas: the Pearson VUE candidate handbook says a candidate who failed can schedule another exam within one day and lists no limit on attempts of the same exam. A separate exam fee applies to reexamination. Review the Texas handbook.
California: PSI requires a new registration for a retake. Under the March 2026 bulletin, ten failures of an exam type within a 12-month period trigger a 12-month bar from the last failed exam. Combination exams can count with component exams. Review your history and check the California bulletin before booking.
