A homeowner with a valuable collection of electronics wants coverage for any accidental loss to personal property, not just listed perils. Which single policy form would best accomplish this without a separate floater?

AHO-2, because it covers 16 broad named perils
HO-5, because it provides open-peril coverage on both dwelling and personal property
CHO-3, because the dwelling section is open-peril
DHO-8, because it uses market value and applies to all property types

Why this is the answer

The key distinction is that HO-3 is open-peril on the structure only — personal property (Coverage C) is still named-peril. A homeowner wanting all-risk protection for contents within the base policy must choose HO-5 (Comprehensive Form), which extends open-peril to Coverage C. HO-2 lists 16 broad named perils for both sections, the same list HO-3 uses for contents, and still not open-peril. HO-8 is designed for older homes and uses a modified replacement cost/ACV approach.
