Under the ISO Personal Auto Policy (PP 00 01) Part A, the public-or-livery conveyance exclusion bars coverage while a vehicle is being used as a public or livery conveyance. Which of the following uses is NOT excluded by that provision under the unendorsed PAP?
A share-the-expense car pool
BDriving for a transportation network company (TNC/rideshare) with a passenger in the vehicle, before adding a rideshare endorsement
COperating the auto as a taxicab
DWaiting for fares while logged into a rideshare app
Why this is the answer
Part A excludes liability while a covered auto is used as a public or livery conveyance, but the exclusion EXPRESSLY does not apply to share-the-expense car pools (informal arrangements where riders defray costs without profit). Taxi, limousine and rideshare/TNC uses (including time logged into a TNC app with no passenger) are excluded unless an appropriate endorsement (e.g., ISO PP 23 45 Limited Transportation Network Driver, or rideshare riders) is added. The same livery exclusion appears in Parts B and D.
