Under an ISO Dwelling policy (DP-1, DP-2, or DP-3), Coverage A — Dwelling insures which of the following?
AThe dwelling, all detached structures on the premises, and all personal property the named insured keeps at the residence location
The dwelling building and attached structures, plus materials and supplies on or near the residence premises used to construct or repair the dwelling
COnly the foundation, footings, and load-bearing exterior walls of the dwelling, excluding all interior finishes, attached fixtures, and any building materials kept on the premises
DThe dwelling itself plus the named insured's personal liability arising from premises operations at the insured location
Why this is the answer
Coverage A — Dwelling under an ISO Dwelling form covers the dwelling shown on the Declarations, structures attached to the dwelling (attached garage, deck, attached porch), and materials and supplies located on or next to the residence premises used to construct, alter, or repair the dwelling or other structures. It does NOT include detached structures (those fall under Coverage B), personal property (Coverage C), or liability (Section II is separate and optional) (ISO DP 00 03 Section I Coverage A).
