The ISO HO-2 Broad Form covers BOTH the dwelling and personal property on a named-perils basis. Approximately how many covered causes of loss appear on the HO-2 peril list?
Why this is the answer
The HO-2 Broad Form writes both Coverage A (Dwelling) and Coverage C (Personal Property) on a named-perils basis using a 16-peril list: fire or lightning, windstorm or hail, explosion, riot or civil commotion, aircraft, vehicles, smoke, vandalism or malicious mischief, theft, falling objects, weight of ice, snow or sleet, accidental discharge or overflow of water or steam, sudden and accidental tearing apart, cracking, burning or bulging, freezing, sudden and accidental damage from artificially generated electrical current, and volcanic eruption. This is the same list HO-3 applies to Coverage C only. HO-2 is broader than the dwelling-fire DP-1 basic form (11 perils) but narrower than HO-3 (open-perils dwelling) (ISO HO 00 02 Section I — Perils Insured Against).
