On an ISO Business Auto Coverage Form (CA 00 01), which numbered symbol entered in the Liability section provides the broadest coverage — owned, non-owned, hired, leased, rented, and borrowed autos?

ASymbol 2 — Owned Autos Only
Symbol 1 — Any Auto
CSymbol 7 — Specifically Described Autos
DSymbol 8 — Hired Autos Only

Why this is the answer

The Business Auto Coverage Form uses numbered symbols 1-9 to designate which autos are 'covered autos' for each coverage line. Symbol 1 Any Auto is the broadest and available only for liability — it picks up owned, hired, non-owned, leased, rented, and borrowed. Symbol 2 covers owned only, 7 specifically described autos, 8 hired only, 9 non-owned only. Physical damage cannot use Symbol 1 because the insurer must value scheduled exposure. See ISO CA 00 01 Covered Auto Designation Symbols.
