How often must an Ohio resident insurance producer renew the producer license issued by ODI?
AAnnually on January 1
BEvery 3 years on the license issue anniversary, with CE due at that same triennial interval
Every 2 years, tied to the producer's birth-month-based renewal date
DEvery 5 years
Why this is the answer
Under R.C. 3905.07, Ohio producer licenses operate on a 2-year renewal cycle. Renewal requires payment of the renewal fee and completion of 24 hours of CE (including 3 ethics) under R.C. 3905.481. The renewal date is tied to the producer's individual schedule. Failure to renew on time results in license lapse; reinstatement within 12 months requires deficient CE plus a reinstatement fee, after which a new application is required.
