Field repairs are done with what is available, and what is available is rarely identical to what came off. A replacement arm from a different production batch, a steel bolt where the original was aluminium, an extra washer, a reinforcing plate, adhesive, or a length of tape all add mass, and they add it at a specific location — so both total weight and balance shift. Neither change is likely to be large, but both matter for the same reason: the aircraft's performance figures, its endurance planning and its flight controller tuning all assume the configuration it was tested in. A repair that adds a few grams off-centre consumes control authority exactly as an unbalanced payload does. The professional practice is to reweigh the repaired aircraft in its flying configuration, confirm it against the manufacturer's maximum takeoff weight with the intended payload, and fly a low test hover before committing it to a mission.
