An Informational Note explains the associated rule; it does not itself add an enforceable NEC requirement. The NEC Style Manual distinguishes explanatory notes from mandatory provisions and does not permit notes to contain requirements or recommendations. A note may point to another provision or standard, whose applicability must be checked separately. Listing equipment does not change the note into a requirement.
