Under Texas Insurance Code §1101.005 and 28 TAC §4.602, what is the minimum grace period, stated in days, for an ordinary (monthly-premium) life insurance policy issued in Texas?

A7 days
B10 days
31 days
D60 days

Why this is the answer

Texas Insurance Code §1101.005(a) requires every life insurance policy to contain a grace period of at least one month for each premium after the first, during which the policy stays in force, and 28 TAC §4.602(a) adds that if the grace period is expressed in days, at least 31 days must be granted. The policy may charge interest on a premium paid during the grace period and, if the insured dies during it, may deduct the overdue premium from the settlement. Neither the statute nor the rule sets a shorter period for weekly-premium policies. Ten days is a common free-look length, not a grace period, and 60 days has no basis in the Texas life grace-period rules.
