How often must a New Jersey resident insurance producer renew the producer license issued by DOBI?
AAnnually on January 1
BEvery 4 years on the issue anniversary, with no continuing education credits required for renewal under the biennial cycle established by statute
COnly once in the producer's career
Every 2 years, tied to the producer's birth-month-based renewal date
Why this is the answer
Under N.J.S.A. 17:22A-35, NJ producer licenses operate on a 2-year renewal cycle. Renewal requires payment of the biennial fee and completion of 24 CE credits including ethics under N.J.A.C. 11:17C. The renewal date is tied to the producer's individual schedule. Failure to renew on time results in lapse; reinstatement is available within a defined window upon payment of a reinstatement fee and any deficient CE.
