After the MA DOI conducts a market conduct examination of an insurer, when does the final examination report typically become available to the public?
After the insurer's response period and the Commissioner's adoption of the final report
BImmediately upon the examiner's first day on site, before any findings are verified or the insurer can respond
COnly after a five-year statutory waiting period
DNever; market conduct reports remain permanently confidential
Why this is the answer
Following a market conduct examination under c. 175 §4, the insurer receives the draft report and a period to file a written response. After review of the insurer's comments, the Commissioner adopts a final report, which becomes a public document filed with the Division and posted on the DOI website.
