Recovery has stalled because pressure in the recovery cylinder has climbed until the machine can no longer push refrigerant into it. What is the correct way to get the transfer moving again?

Cylinder pressure is set by the saturation temperature of the liquid inside it. A tub of cool water or ice water around the cylinder is the standard field fix, and swapping to a fresh cylinder works too. Warming the cylinder does the opposite of what is needed, bleeding it to atmosphere is a prohibited release, and walking away only lets the pressures come back together with the charge still in the appliance.

Bleeding a cylinder to atmosphere is a knowing release and is prohibited however brief it is. It also throws away refrigerant the technician is being paid to capture, so it repairs nothing.

Option D: Disconnect the machine and let the appliance sit overnight until pressures equalize on their own, then resume in the morning

Letting the system sit does not move refrigerant out of the appliance. Equalized pressure means the transfer has stopped for good, so returning in the morning finds exactly the same stalled job.
