Which of the following is NOT one of the four essential elements required to form a legally enforceable insurance contract?
Insurable interest at the time of loss
BOffer and acceptance
CConsideration
DCompetent parties
Why this is the answer
Every legally enforceable contract — insurance or otherwise — requires the same four common-law elements: a definite offer and its acceptance, valid consideration exchanged, parties legally competent to contract, and a legal (lawful) purpose. Insurable interest is a separate doctrine unique to insurance: it must exist when the policy is issued (and for property, at the time of loss), but it is not one of the four contract-formation elements. The FL outline lists the four elements verbatim under §III.D.1. Per the Florida Agent's Health & Life Exam Content Outline §III.D.1.
