What score do I need to pass the Florida contractor exam?
You need 70% on each of the three parts: Business & Financial Management (84/120), Contract Administration (42/60), and Project Management (42/60). Each part is scored independently.
Are the three parts taken on the same day?
No. Each part is typically taken on a separate day due to the lengthy time allotments. Part 1 allows 6.5 hours, and Parts 2 and 3 allow 4.5 hours each.
What happens if I pass two parts but fail one?
You only need to retake the failed part. Passed parts are preserved for a specific period (check with DBPR for current validity timelines). You must wait 30 days before retaking a failed part.
Is there a penalty for wrong answers?
No. The exam is scored on correct answers only — there is no penalty for guessing. Always answer every question, even if you are unsure.
How soon do I get my exam results?
PSI provides results at the testing center immediately after completing each part. You will know your pass/fail status and your score before you leave.
