Frequently asked questions

What are the CPA Australia Foundation exams?

They cover the knowledge you need to start the CPA Program if your degree did not. There are four: Foundations of Accounting, Financial Accounting and Reporting, Management Accounting, and Business Finance. Each is 100 multiple-choice questions in 195 minutes, closed book, booked on demand at Pearson VUE. You can sit each one at most four times, at least 30 days apart.

What is the pass mark for CPA Australia exams?

Results are scaled from 100 to 900 and 540 is a pass, for the Foundation exams and the CPA Program subjects alike. CPA Australia does not publish the raw mark behind a scaled score.

How is Financial Reporting different from the other subjects?

Besides multiple-choice questions, the Financial Reporting exam has worksheet items: you read case facts and type numeric answers into a grid, such as consolidation entries or a deferred tax schedule. Our Financial Reporting practice includes worksheet items in the same format, graded cell by cell.

Are these official CPA Australia questions?

No. EstatePass is not affiliated with CPA Australia. Every question is written by EstatePass from public standards (IFRS and AASB), legislation and the published exam outlines, and each explanation cites the paragraph or section it rests on. None comes from CPA Australia study guides, exams or recalled papers.

When is the next CPA Program exam window?

Semester 1 2027: enrolment opens 30 November 2026 and exams run 12–27 April 2027, with results on 4 June 2027. Check CPA Australia's important dates page before you plan around them.
