Fundamentals of Real Estate Pre-licensing Exam (FRE-PL)

Fundamentals of Real Estate is the first course every Alberta licensee completes, whatever sector they go on to practise in. Its pre-licensing exam is 120 questions with a 70% pass mark, written at a test centre within three months of finishing the course.

How many questions are on the RECA Fundamentals exam?

120. Every other RECA pre-licensing exam has 100. The pass mark is 70%, and RECA reports only pass or fail, not a percentage.

How many times can I write the RECA exam?

Two attempts. A learner who fails the rewrite must re-enrol in the course before writing again, and a three-month cooling-off period applies after four consecutive attempts.

Is there a RECA practice exam?

RECA sells an online prep exam: 75 questions in 90 minutes for $65, up to three attempts, with a score report broken down by competency whether you pass or fail.
